ABSTRACT

The number of occupational hazards in construction industry is the highest one among all kinds of the industry. Although the Government has expended great effort in improving occupational disasters, the construction industry occupational hazards remained high. How to reduce construction industry occupational hazards have become an important issue. According to many professional disaster investigation reports, unsafe acts result from three aspects including labor poor attitude, lack of safety cognition, security holding deposit and get away. This research investigates field of knowledge of safety climate and safety behaviors, explores the relationship between safety climate and safety with a view to promoting security officers face up to team atmosphere important, and understanding of the close relationship between safety climate and safety. Because of the number of occupational hazards in construction work is far higher than the other project types, this research is in the field of construction for the study, divide it to management, job supervisors and workers, this three post-order differences between safety climate and safety behavior. Based on literature review, this study divides safety climate into four dimensions: safety commitment, risk management, safety, attitudes and communication. Safety behavior is divided into two dimensions: safety participation and safety operations. The collected data are analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson product moment correlation, single factor analysis of variance analysis and comparative statistics and Scheffe subsequently analysis. Research findings could serve as the references of safety climate and safety behavior improvement for architectural projects.
